Welcome to the Chess Board! This tool is perfect for learning, teaching, and analyzing chess positions.

Basic Usage:

• Playing: Click any piece to make the first move. The game will then alternate between players automatically.
• Setup Mode: Click "Setup Mode" to reset to a blank board with all 32 pieces available in the side slots. Both kings must be placed before exiting Setup Mode. Click a piece from the side slots, then click any square on the board to place it. Click any piece on the board to remove it.
• Toggle Highlights: Turns move visualization on and off. When highlights are ON (default), clicking your piece shows green move options, and clicking an opponent piece shows yellow analysis paths. When OFF, no move highlights appear.
• Save/Restore: Save any position permanently. Restore it later even after closing the browser.
